This painting is part of “The Forest Lullaby” series. The “Forest Lullaby” series is a collection of paintings I turned into a children’s book. I created it as a love story for my daughter before she was born, when she was still just a dream in my heart. “Forest Lullaby” tells the story of an egg that falls from the nest and sails in a tiny walnut boat guided by a dragonfly through a forest by the sea, floating past sleeping animals until it is safely returned to its nest. In a sense, the story was my way of trying to will the child of my heart into existence. “Close your eyes now, breathe deeply as time slows, and I will meet you in the forest where the warm wind blows.”
