By all appearances, the nuthatch is an ordinary bird, easy to overlook among the more showy and colorful birds. In life, it is also easy to overlook the simple things among the constant pressure to be more, see more, acquire more, do more. We can lose ourselves in this drive for more and forget to see the simple things in our lives that are so easy to take for granted, the things that bring us stability, joy, and comfort. Taking the time to recognize the importance of the most basic aspects of our life can ground us and bring us back to ourselves. There is beauty in simplicity, and joy in knowing the value of what we already have.
