Early in our marriage, my husband and I would stay up late each night working in the office of our first home. He would play computer games or work on a project at his desk, and I would sit at my desk kitty-corner from his and paint. We’d happily toil the hours away, lost in our own worlds but still quietly enjoying each other’s presence. When I look at this painting, I’m taken back to that time and I remember the simple joy of simply being in the company of my new husband.
